Pet Portrait Plaques

Pet portraits engraved into wood, made a few at a time. Each plaque is a square of pale wood with the portrait cut into a dark recessed field and a plain border left around it as a frame. Most carry the pet's name in block capitals.

The laser burns the background deepest and leaves the animal standing proud, so fur, ears and noses read as shallow carving when the light comes from the side. Each one is rubbed down and wiped clean by hand.
